Formulation
A pharmacist's habit, kept for three generations.
Dr. Richard Eckstein was a pharmacist. An active is chosen because a named skin condition asks for it. Not because it is fashionable.
The founding active
Azulene.
Azulene is distilled from chamomile. It is deep blue, and you can see it in the bottle before you feel it on the skin.
It is the ingredient the house has been built on since 1949. It suits skin that reacts — skin that flushes, tightens or stings when something new is put on it.
That is why azulene names some of the best-known products in the range, from the cleansing oil to Azulen Paste.
Matched, not universal
Four care goals. Ten skin conditions.
This is the structure the whole range sits inside. It is a way of reading a face, not a way of selling one. You find the condition first. The products follow from it.

The treatment step
One named active for one named condition.
The Active Concentrates are the clearest form of the principle. Each one carries a single complex, and each one is named after the thing it is for. Nothing is hidden behind a house blend.

In South Africa
The same condition looks different here.
Our UV is high all year. Highveld winters are dry. Coastal summers are humid. Sensitive skin in Johannesburg in July behaves nothing like sensitive skin in Durban in January.
The condition is the same. How it presents is not. That is why the matching is done here, in person, by someone who can look at your skin in your climate.
A therapist reads the skin, then picks from the range. It takes one visit. Find a salon near you.
